WHO FOUNDED CHRISTIANITY?
by PProphet Philip K
A Religion... or a Revelation?
Many people assume Christianity began as a man-made religion founded by human leaders.
Some say it was founded by Constantine.
Others say Paul invented it.
Some believe Christianity was simply a modified version of Judaism.
But the Bible tells a very different story.
Christianity was not born in a palace.
Not in Rome.
Not in a government council.
Not through political power.
Christianity began with a Person.
Jesus Christ.
CHRIST DID NOT COME TO START A RELIGION
Jesus never said: “Follow Christianity.”
He said:
“Follow Me.” — Matthew 4:19
This is important.
Christianity was never supposed to be merely:
rituals,
denominations,
church buildings,
or religious systems.
At its core, Christianity is a relationship with the living Christ.
The word “Christian” was first used in Antioch:
“The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” — Acts 11:26
It was originally a label given to people who lived like Christ.
They preached like Him.
Loved like Him.
Suffered like Him.
And carried His Spirit.
JESUS SAID HE WOULD BUILD HIS CHURCH
One of the clearest statements comes from Jesus Himself:
“I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” — Matthew 16:18
Notice: Jesus did not say:
“Peter will build it.”
“Rome will build it.”
“Governments will build it.”
“I will build My church.”
The Church belongs to Christ.
Not politicians.
Not celebrities.
Not religious empires.
The true Church is made of transformed people redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
CROSS IS THE FOUNDATION
Christianity was born through:
the death of Christ,
the resurrection of Christ,
and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
Without the resurrection, there is no Christianity.
Paul wrote:
“And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile.” — 1 Corinthians 15:17
The tomb is empty.
That is the difference.
Many religions follow dead founders.
Christianity follows a risen Savior.
Jesus did not merely teach morality.
He claimed divinity.
He forgave sins.
He accepted worship.
He conquered death.
And history changed forever.
REAL QUESTION
The question is not merely: “Who founded Christianity?”
The deeper question is:
“Who is Jesus?”
Because Christianity stands or falls on Him.
If Jesus truly rose from the dead...
then He is not merely a teacher.
He is Lord.
FINAL THOUGHT
Christianity was not founded by human ambition.
It was born through:
a bloody Cross,
an empty tomb,
and a living Savior.
That is why Christianity continues to survive persecution, empires, attacks, and generations.
Because its founder is still alive.
“I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.” — Revelation 1:18
Christ did not just found Christianity.
He is Christianity.
